Dear MAGA....
Please, let me explain
MAKA, MAMA, MAPA, MALA, MAUA, MATA, MAEA- in other words
KIND, MORAL, PROUD, LOVE, UNITE, THINK, ENGAGE.
Do you want to know why so many of us are angry? Why hasn’t anyone in your camp come up with an alternative to MAGA with a G? Is ANTIFA a bad word?
Let me start with what both sides have in common. We LOVE OUR COUNTRY. Please remember that. And, don’t confuse “VIOLENCE” (if you haven’t connected the dots yet, this administrations superpower for busy families is REPETITION UNTIL ONE BELIEVES what they are being fed) with Peaceful actions, anger, frustration, or action.
One of our mentors in activism is Bandy X. Lee . If you are unfamiliar with her work, here are snippets from a book that she and world renowned experts on violence wrote and published first in 2017. It was recently published once more.
I share a quote from a new direction that Dr. Lee took a few weeks back to educate her subscribers about her scholarship on VIOLENCE. “Awareness itself is crucial to prevention. In my textbook, Violence, I distinguish between three types of consciousness: alarm consciousness, lack of consciousness, and studied consciousness.” I hope folks will read it.
But, back to the concern that the left is VIOLENT. I can attest to the fact that the majority of us are not. We are angry. We are frustrated. We are perplexed. Why?
We’ve lost friends and family to a man who exploits them.
Our grocery prices were never going to go down.

Trump Didn’t Invent ‘Make America Great Again'
We see you being lied to over and over again, knowing that those who use the lies do not in anyway have your interests in mind.
Our administration and their allies truly think you are “stupid”. Republicans have been caught on hot mic’s before mocking their constituents, especially Christians.
We ask everyday, “what would Jesus do?”
We watch many of you celebrate the cruelty of ICE.
Trump, Vance and Miller, Bannon, Loomer, Hegeseth our absolute racists. They have mastered victimization and spin. You can’t say you are not racist or homophobic because of your one black or gay friend.
You are being exploited because YOU are angry, but you don’t really know why. We get that. Feeling left behind is not because the LEFT or ANTIFA did that to you. It is years and years of promises made and never kept on both sides.
By the way, ANTIFA…put it together…Anti-Facism. Do you support FACISM or are you against it? Not intending to be snarky. Simple question.
Democrats are not the cause of violence, the shut down or your pain! Again, leaders without empathy (I again suggest you go to the Substack with explainers of how vulnerable people are easily manipulated).
I’ve listened to right wing news, watched the rallies and watched cabinet meetings and press conferences (Trump set them up daily when Biden was President) for a decade now. I urge you to watch them with a different lens. What I see is rage, cruelty, mockery etc. What I NEVER see is JOY, KINDNESS, COMPASSION, LOVE, SHAME…NEVER, EVER.
And, both sides. No, violence and shootings are not a both sides issue. I wished desperately, long before Trump became president, that Congressman Steve Scalise (R) from Louisiana would use his tragedy for healing in the country. Sadly, he hasn’t. Instead he demeans, blames and denies. Likely, a function of his never receiving the care that he needed after he survived being shot. But, school shootings, the attempts on Trump, the attempt on Nancy Pelosi’s husband, the politicians in Minnesota, the shooting of Charlie Kirk…I urge you to go back and read legitimate sources on the history of political violence. You will find that it is largely precipitated by right wing politicians demonizing the left.
Lastly, we are concerned for our children, grandchildren and yours as well. Why? Because, most of us, like many of you were raised to be kind, to show empathy and to take care of vulnerable people. If you struggle with that idea now, ask yourself why? You know the right answers.
So, tomorrow as millions of Americans head out to the streets to FIGHT for their LOVE OF DEMOCRACY and the insanity of this moment, either, join them with an open heart or study them. I promise you that the right wing media companies are absolutely beholden to twisting and turning the narrative so badly that you will not see what I described. If you do watch objectively, you will see, yes, anger, but JOY, KINDNESS, CARING, American Flags, flags that represent all kinds of communities, and above all else American PATRIOTISM.
